1. The short version

As a consumer you can withdraw from a subscription, a pack or a plan change within 14 days without giving a reason. Use the button labelled "Withdraw from contract" ("Vertrag widerrufen") or write to info@orionquant.com, and you get your money back.

Beyond the statutory rights and the cases in section 11, there are no goodwill refunds. The free plan and the free trial exist so that you can assess the software before you pay.

The binding text is sections 11, 17 and 18 of the Terms. If this page differs from them, the Terms apply.

2. The 14 day right of withdrawal

The Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act (FAGG) gives consumers who order at a distance 14 days to withdraw. Austrian law calls this right "Rücktritt", and the statutory model texts call it "Widerruf". Both mean the same right.

The period begins on the day the contract is concluded. For a subscription that is the day it starts. If it starts with a free trial, it is the day the free trial starts.

You do not have to give a reason.

The right belongs to consumers. Anyone who orders in the course of their business has no statutory right of withdrawal.

Each new contract has its own period. That applies to every purchase of a pack and to a change to a higher plan. The renewal of a running subscription for a further billing period is not a new contract and does not start a new period.

3. If you start using it within those 14 days

We begin performance before the period ends only if you expressly request this when ordering. The order page asks for it with a separate checkbox.

If you then withdraw, you get most of your money back and pay a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the withdrawal (section 16 FAGG). For subscriptions we calculate by days, for packs by the portion used.

An example: a monthly subscription starts on the 1st, you use it at once and withdraw on the 8th. We keep roughly a quarter of the monthly price and refund the rest.

Starting the service does not remove your right of withdrawal for subscriptions and packs. Only the proportionate amount changes. Section 9 applies to the perpetual licence.

4. How to withdraw

Any clear statement is enough. No particular form is required, and you do not have to give a reason.

Online. Through the button labelled "Withdraw from contract" in the account settings under Billing and in the footer of engine.orionquant.com. We confirm receipt immediately by e-mail, stating the content, date and time.

Withdraw from contract

You can use the model withdrawal form in section 18 of the Terms, but you do not have to.

A statement that you send on the last day of the period is in time. The day of sending counts.

Please state the e-mail address of your account so that we can identify the contract.

5. What happens then

We refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the same means of payment you paid with, unless we expressly agree something else with you. Withdrawing costs nothing.

The refund is processed through Stripe. When it reaches you depends on your bank or card issuer. It usually takes a few working days.

On withdrawal, access to the paid features ends and the account falls back to the free plan. A founding price ends with the subscription (section 29 of the Terms).

We do not delete your data at that point. You can still sign in and delete your content or the account yourself. On request to info@orionquant.com we compile a copy of your strategies and results. Sections 8 and 14 of the Privacy Policy describe this.

6. Cancelling is a different thing

Withdrawal is the statutory right of the first 14 days, which gets you money back.

Cancelling stops a subscription from renewing. The period already paid for is not refunded. You cancel in the account settings or by writing to us. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for. After that the account falls back to the free plan and remains in place.

If you delete your account, a running subscription, unused packs and a perpetual licence end without a refund. The application points this out before the deletion.

7. If something does not work

Your statutory warranty rights are not affected by this page.

If there is a defect, you are entitled to repair or replacement, to a price reduction or to termination of the contract, under the Austrian Consumer Warranty Act (VGG) and sections 922 et seq. of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB).

These rights last far longer than 14 days and exist independently of the right of withdrawal.

Please tell us what does not work before you conclude that it cannot be fixed.

8. Complaints

Send complaints to info@orionquant.com or call +43 676 5423969. Every complaint is handled personally by a member of staff.

We do not take part in proceedings before a consumer arbitration body and are not obliged to. The competent body would be the Schlichtung für Verbrauchergeschäfte (the Austrian consumer arbitration board).

Your right to go to court is unaffected.

9. One-off purchases: packs and the perpetual licence

Packs. The 14 day right of withdrawal applies to packs of server minutes, audits or AI tokens. If you requested an immediate start and have already used part of a pack, you pay for that part and are refunded the rest. After the 14 days, packs are not refunded. They also do not expire as long as the account exists.

Perpetual licence. The perpetual licence is digital content. The right of withdrawal ceases as soon as we have begun to supply it, if you expressly consented to this beforehand and confirmed that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, and we have sent you the confirmation of the contract. The order page asks for both. Without these declarations your right of withdrawal remains in place for 14 days.

10. Free trial and plan changes

Free trial. Cancelling during the free trial costs nothing, and your means of payment is not charged. If you do not cancel, the free trial turns into the subscription that the order page showed beforehand. The 14 days run from the start of the free trial. Anyone who cancels during the free trial loses a founding code redeemed for it and the founding seat (section 4.1 of the Terms).

Change to a higher plan. The change has its own period of 14 days from the change. If you withdraw, the previous plan applies again, and we refund the surcharge less the share for the days used.

Change to a lower plan or a different billing period. It takes effect at the end of the period already paid for. There is no proportionate refund in that case.

11. Other cases in which we refund

Suspension of the service. If we suspend the service for longer than seven consecutive days, you can cancel immediately and are refunded the part of the period already paid for in which the service was not provided (section 24 of the Terms).
Changes to the Terms or the software. If you cancel because you object to a change to the Terms, or because a change to the software impairs your use more than only slightly, you are refunded prepaid fees for the time after that (section 13 of the Terms).
Termination by us. If we end the contract or the service, we refund prepaid subscription fees for the time after that. If you gave no cause for this, we also refund the price of purchased packs that have not been used (sections 31 and 33 of the Terms).

12. Businesses

Businesses have no statutory right of withdrawal. Sections 9 and 11 of the Terms apply to them, as do the cases in section 11 of this page to the extent that they are not limited to consumers.
